Selection Guide

How to Choose the Right Concrete Pump

Selecting the correct pump involves matching four key parameters to your pour specification:

  • Output Rate (m³/h): Must exceed your ready-mix delivery rate to avoid truck queuing. Allow 20% margin for setup time between loads.
  • Pumping Pressure (bar): Increases with pumping distance, vertical height, and mix viscosity. High-strength mixes (>C50) typically require 150+ bar.
  • Boom Reach (m): Must clear obstacles between pump position and pour point. Consider both vertical and horizontal offset.
  • Valve Technology: Rock valve for abrasive mixes (crushed aggregate); S-tube for round aggregate and self-compacting concrete.
